One Picture Saves A Life

Fellow photographers, animal lovers, DSLR owners, and helpful souls out there…. I came across an inspiring website tonight called One Picture Saves Lives. Great way for photographers, photo enthusiasts, and other animal lovers to help save the lives of Shelter pets that are looking for forever homes.

There’s a pretty extensive list of shelters needing help in cities all over the place. The website is also nice because it’s got tutorials and tips that anyone can use to help learn how to take good photos of shelter animals with any kind of camera and get great results. Go check out some of the videos, find a shelter in your area, and donate some of your time. If you can’t find a place on the list, I’m sure that most shelters in your area would be more than grateful for your help, assistance, and time too so feel free to call around.

I will definitely be donating some of my time soon – and it’s such a simple way to be able to help out – and a professional photo really can make such a difference in the way these animals are perceived. Anyone well versed in marketing knows with these advertisements for pet adoptions, just like any other advertisement, you’ve got 3 seconds to grab a viewers attention and make an impression. An impression of a frightened animal in a shelter versus a professional photograph that showcases the animal properly can make a literal world of difference. For more information please check out:
